All for You (an anaphoric poem)

Wild flowers on a hillside, beside a group of grass and tree covered hills. A gray-green mountain range, with a full rainbow rises into the distance at sunrise. Yeah, I know, it's a bit much.

For you
I would hang the stars in the sky
and make the moon to shine at night
On a warm Summer’s day
I’d give you a breeze soft and sweet

For you
I’d make blue skies above
and soft cool grass below
I’d make light Spring showers
that set the fields aglow

I would do all this and so much more
All for you

For you
I’d make gently rolling hills
with birds singing in the trees
and the plains open wide
to set your spirit free

For you
I would make a beach
where waves brush the shore
A gently flowing brook
with a place that you call yours

I would do all this and so much more
All for you

For you
I would make a wooded glen
a place where you can rest
Just for you I’d give my all
For you my very best

Knowing that you’d trip and fall
Against me you would turn
I chose right then to make a world
where you could grow and learn

For you
I left all Heaven’s glory
to serve you with my hands
teach you truth and show you love
include you in my plans

Then willingly I paid the price
for your sin and selfish pride
I gave my all, my very life
just to have you by my side

For you
I did all this and so much more
All for you
All for you.
