deep in the green
buried amongst the trees
no discernible path
no place to bed down
I struggle to find
my way
pausing momentarily
I carve into the bark
of one unfortunate tree
after another
a desperate attempt
to declare meaning
just another despairing soul
leaving their mark
upon the world
impermanent
ever lost
in the wood
