Falling Apart (a poem)

The silhouette of a woman at sunset, sitting in the grass, her head tilted onto her knees.

When all around me crumbles,
falling apart before me,
you are my refuge.
Shelter me. Protect me.

When those I trust,
have turned and walked away,
only you remain true.
Stay with me. Walk with me.

From the depths of my soul,
I cry out to you,
and you feel my pain.
Hear me. Comfort me.

When I question everything
I had believed in,
it is you who are the one constant.
My God, my Savior, my Friend.
