Mad at the World (a poem)

Mad at the world,
and all of those in it,
who think they can run people’s lives.

Is greater good
their true motivation
or just dark desires inside?

They sell us the dream
that here we are free
so long as we follow their rules,

while most of our lives
enslaved we will be
to the masters of puppets and fools.

The laws we have made
are constantly changing
to fit with their grand little scheme.

While we are content
to live out our lives
all the while building their dream.

And when it all turns
to Orwellian nightmare
our destiny decided by state,

will we then stand
against this injustice
or die resigned to our fate?
