In light of recent events, I thought I’d come clean and share…
My Trans Agenda:
- Write more poetry.
- Support marginalized people.
- Stop and smell the roses (literally).
- Read and learn as much as I can.
- Thank people for their kindness.
- Appreciate the little things.
- Talk less and listen more.
- Love my neighbor even if it’s not returned.
- Help people in need.
- Learn from my mistakes.
- Be a better person than I was yesterday.
- Take time for self-care.
- Pet my cats more (despite my allergies).
- Accept myself as I am, for who I am.
- Expose hatred for what it is: fear.
- Learn to be more vulnerable.
- Learn to play piano, again.
- Publish my book of poetry.
- Finish my novel.
- Be the person my friends think I am.
- Learn to speak and write Tsalagi (Cherokee).
- Unlearn bad behaviors from my childhood.
- Support artists of all mediums.
- Share my blessings.
- Touch people’s hearts. (not literally. metaphorically speaking, of course.)
- Visit the places my ancestors lived. (especially Chota)
- Appreciate the quiet times in between.
- Learn to live with less.
- Contribute to a better future for everyone.
- Make room for wildlife in my yard.
- Promote healthy boundaries.
- Respect people’s differences.
- Get out more.
- Spend time with the people who matter most to me.
- Learn perspective from each generation.
- Be open to change.
- Work toward a more equitable world.
- Stand up for myself when necessary.
- Hold onto my faith in people.
- Love enough to forgive.
- Show kindness.
- Be merciful.
- Practice humility.
- Be compassionate.
- Don’t be afraid to do the right thing.
- Tell people they matter.
- Value honesty.
- Don’t let my heart be hardened.
- Love, for the sake of love.
- Endeavor to understand others.
- Try to find common ground.
- Lift people’s spirits.
- Stay hydrated.
- Don’t stagnate.
- Share my knowledge.
- See beauty in everything.
- Acknowledge effort.
- Rest and relax.
- Don’t hold things too tightly.
- Pass things on to my kids; now. (not later, when they no longer need it.)
- Be happy for others.
- Celebrate their accomplishments.
- Comfort and mourn with them.
- Remind myself that it’s okay to cry.
- Be thankful for each day I’m given.
- Don’t worry about what people think.
- Do what makes me happy.
- Connect with people.
- Give a damn.
- Enjoy life.
