Straight into Tomorrow (a poem)

Deadvlei in the first light of the sunrise. A white clay floor, a large orange-pink dune, and an old acacia tree. An African landscape from Sossusvlei, Namib Desert, Namibia, Southern Africa. Red sand floor backed by the biggest sand dune in the world.

(TW: Death)

Life happens,
at times in excess.

It is said that
moments of change, loss, and death
are among the most difficult.

In the past few weeks
my bingo card received three stamps,
Dark Red Stamps.

Like every fool that has lived,
I tried to ignore, move on,
forward.

I did.

Straight into tomorrow,
where my problems were waiting
on the edge of my bed,

waiting for my awakening.
