I’m falling apart,
and a part of me is falling,
falling to the ground below.
My ascent stopped,
I cling tightly to the cliffside,
one hand holding on to hope.
I stretch out to catch it,
that which has fallen just beyond reach.
I look and realize it was my other hand.
For a moment, I hang silently.
Unable to move ahead, resigned to my fate,
I release my grip.
