Slow Down (a poem)

A busy father stands at the kitchen table, working on his laptop, while his lonely son looks at him from the end of the table.

Just another busy day
I miss my time with you
Look, now it’s getting late
but still so much to do

So many moments lost
and as they slip away
I turn to see you standing there
wishing I would stay

Then I’m off, just watch me run
Neglecting you again
When you are the only one
that matters in the end
