fell (a poem)
hand in hand, we left that day, together, come rain or shine.
the longer i live, the more i see, it’s true that love is blind.

i am the words i speak, i’m the things i do, i’m not how i look, or the things i accrue. you try to define me with the simplest of words but i’m far beyond that, though you think it absurd.
This is one of those
awkward
moments,
we all have them
and yet in the midst of it
I feel so foolish,
exposed,
helpless,
and alone.
Give thanks. Give attention, acceptance, kindness. Give of your heart. Give comfort. Give peace, joy, happiness. Give of your soul.
It’s winter again, it’s snowing outside, and my soul is as dry as my hands. A frozen wasteland, no less of a desert. My heart is parched like the sands.
After the last vote has been cast and the election is decided, the real work begins.

We stand up, shout out, punch up, and don’t punch out until the message is heard loud and clear.
“It is what it is” applies to:
…a rainy day.
…when you forget the lyrics to a song.
…getting a hole in your sock.
