So many saw it coming but ignored the warning signs. (a follow-up to my 2016 poem The Coming Storm)
In light of recent events, I thought I’d come clean and share… My Trans Agenda.
I stand tall, proud,
find strength in who I am,
inspired by my ancestors.
Surrounded by people, blind to the tension. This patchwork relationship, this marriage of convenience, is falling apart.
Sometimes we, as artists, hold our creations close to the vest when they are meant to be released into the wild, to find new life and horizons beyond their creators.

hand in hand, we left that day, together, come rain or shine.
the longer i live, the more i see, it’s true that love is blind.
I have been thinking, a lot, the last two days—about who I want to be in this moment.
